Reflection
I really enjoyed the process of exploring the different ways to create VFX. I liked experimenting with the various settings, as well as setting up the environments for them. The process of post-production was quite fun, I enjoyed compiling the sequences together and editing transitions between them and seeing the overall project come together.
My issue with the process was finding characters that matched the style that I was going for and having to settle with the two characters with slightly different styles; although in terms of theme, I liked how the characters both presented the historical and sci-fi theme that I was going for, however, I would have much prefered the style to be somewhat cartoonish as I believed that this would have flown well together with the music.
I would have liked for the entire music video to have been one specific style rather than a combination of different styled realism, but due to being unable to find matching styles, it was the best that I could do and I’m satisfied with the outcome.
Overall, I learned a lot from this module and was given a great opportunity to explore different variations of particle systems and how to make them and I’m satisfied with the outcome of my music video! In future projects, I would like to experiment with creating VFX for a sequence that’s more action-packed, such as something with fire or smoke.
